Yup! Each Thingy has a secret agent hiding inside – an NFC chip. Tap a modern smartphone on it or near it (think phone handshake!), and it whisks them away to your Thingy’s personal webpage. Here’s the magic of that tap:

• New visitors get 1000 Thingy scan points (value of $10) for signing up (basically free art for them!).
• You get 500 points (value of $5) after your new referral makes their first purchase (because you’re the coolest art curator they know).
• We call these new fans that you bring to the company, your Thingy “children.” Cute, right? (Or creepy? We’re not sure.)

But wait, there’s more!

• Your new Thingy “children” can spread the Thingy love too! When their friends scan their Thingys, you become a Thingy “grandparent” (not as cool as that other kind of grandparent, but still pretty cool). And guess what? You ‘ole Thingy grandma/grandpa will get 250 points (value of $2.50) for those scans!

Just show off your Thingys! Who doesn’t want to talk about that picture of Bobby with ice cream on his face?

We count EVERYTHING that gets scanned. Be the 1000th scanner worldwide, and you get a whopping 1000 points yourself! Then the race starts all over again (counter resets). So it’s a great incentive to scan at least one of your Thingys, once a day (you can be counted once every 24 hours).
